Facts[]

Out of all the specimens in the Alatusaurus genus of "Flyzards", the fontinalis species has the greatest chestwing in relation to body size. Like the rest of the Alatusaurus genus, the Alatusaurus fontinalis is a consummate insectivore, snatching insects from the backs of larger animals, trees or in the air.

Unlike the rest of the genus, Alatusaurus fontinalis lacks the distinctive red colouration. Body coloration of Alatusaurus fontinalis is similar to a brook trout, hence the scientific name.

Trivia[]

  • The brook trout shares the same species name as Alatusaurus fontinalis, which is possibly a reference to the similarity in colouration.
  • As it only appeared in behind the scenes for the King Kong film as a model, it is unknown how canon this species is.
  • Like all animals from Skull Island. It is unknown what they faced during the sinking of the island. Given the multiple expeditions, there may be a chance that a few surviving populations was saved off-land to a more stable enclosure.
