Alatusaurus sanguideia ("bloody winged lizard") is a 6-8 inches (15-20 centimeters) long subspecies of Alatusaurus flying lizard ("Flyzard") that is found on Skull Island. The animal is described in the book "The World of Kong: A Natural History of Skull Island" (2005).
Facts[]
The fiery-scaled Alatusaurus sanguideia was one of the most common Alatusaurus subspecies found in the jungle. The subspecies had a long whip-like tail, fully two-thirds of their total length, and a thorny head. Males had the most pronounced thorns on their tiny skulls, and used them to intimidate one another. They ate insects.
Like most specimens from the Alatusaurus genus, they were crimson red and flew via a retractable ribcage that has been webbed to allow for short-distance gliding. As its name implies, sanguideia was even more red than its sibling species, being almost as bright red as blood. They also sport a long sail across its very long tail; largely for mating purposes than for flight.

Trivia[]
- Like all animals from Skull Island. It is unknown what they faced during the sinking of the island. Given the multiple expeditions, there may be a chance that a few surviving populations was saved off-land to a more stable enclosure.
