Alligator has a reputation for creating good quality, value for money product, for supply into Retail and the Mass Market.

Alligator Books was founded by Managing Directors Andrew H. Rabin and Neil Rodol in November 1999. The company’s rapid success and expansion led to its acquisition by International Greetings PLC in April 2006.

Currently, Alligator publishes an extensive range of children’s fiction and non-fiction books, ranging from much-loved children’s classics, to tie-ins with a number of major films, characters from animated TV shows, and a vast selection of reference books, colouring and activity books, and early learning books.

Alligator’s diverse catalogue continues to expand at a rapid rate and, in addition to publishing, now includes jigsaw books, pop-up books, make-a-scenes, carry packs, busy packs, colouring sets, carry along colouring sets, art sets, poster art sets, magic painting books, modelling clay, sticker boxes, magnetic activity tri-fold and bi-fold books, memo magnets and fridge magnets.

More recently, Alligator Books purchased a sizeable range of non-fiction titles from Chrysalis Children’s Books. The beautifully illustrated reference books will add a new dimension to Alligator Books’ generic publishing programme, broadening the company’s extensive range of titles even further.

In June 2002, Alligator Books bought Kenleys Ltd, which is a supplier to the gift trade of bespoke gift bags and boxes. This purchase provided new areas to further grow the core range of published titles, whilst at the same time allowing the Kenleys’ products to be introduced to the Alligator Books’ customer base.
