Aspiscimex exos ("boneless viper bug") is an 18-23 inches long (45.7-58.4 centimeters) aquatic myriapod introduced in the book "The World of Kong: A Natural History of Skull Island" (2005).
Facts[]
The most active predator among the neopedes, Aspiscimex has a soft body that grants it flexibility but confines it to the water.
The rear legs are replaced by a flat tail and, unlike the jaws of most arthropods, the jaws of a Aspiscimex resembles those of vertebrates and are hard slicing plates.
They hunt small bony fish in swift streams.
Trivia[]
- Like all animals from Skull Island. It is unknown what they faced during the sinking of the island. Given the multiple expeditions, there may be a chance that a few surviving populations was saved off-land to a more stable enclosure.
