The Dirusuchus ("dire crocodile") is a green, coastal crocodilian about 12-19 feet in length (3.6-6 meters) from the eastern estuary of Skull Island.
Facts[]
Dirusuchus is Skull Island's quintessential ambush predator and local crocodillian. They eat anything from small Venatosaurus to carcasses. Sometimes meals are stolen from it by the larger Nefundusaurus through intimidation and brute force.
Based on the size differences, Dirusuchus is highly sexually dimorphic, with males being nearly double the length of females and weighing close to a ton in weight. Unlike other crocodiles, Dirusuchus has a unique skull-shape, being less compressed and more dinosaurine in shape. The nasal cavity is closer to the eyes and the entire skull is elevated, creating another unique form of ambush predation as only the creature's head is seen above water.
