Furcifer adipatus ("florid rogue") or Fat Chameleon is a 30-36 inches (76.2-91.44 centimeters) long species of lizard that is found on Skull Island. The animal is described in the book "The World of Kong: A Natural History of Skull Island" (2005).
Facts[]
Fat Chameleon is a species of plump-looking chameleon. At nearly a meter in length, the Fat Chameleon is among one of the largest chameleon species in the world.
Its varied omnivorous diet has allowed it to become successful, and its ability to store large quantities of fat allows the Fat Chameleon to survive long periods without food.
The canopy of Skull Island's jungle played host to the world's biggest and strangest chameleons. Evolving in isolation after some chance colonization several million years ago, they had grown to gigantic proportions. The largest variety was almost 3 feet long. Their natural climbing skills allowed the species to clamber into the highest branches to obtain their prizes, while their mimetic camouflage protected them from arboreal predators.
Trivia[]
- Like all animals from Skull Island. It is unknown what they faced during the sinking of the island. Given the multiple expeditions, there may be a chance that a few surviving populations was saved off-land to a more stable enclosure.
