The Firebellied Tree-talon, Hylaeohamus ("Forest talon") is a cricket-like insect native to Skull Island.

Facts[]

A denizen of the jungle-canopies, the Fire-bellied Tree-talon is so named because of its reddish belly. Similar to the much larger Weta-rex, the Tree-talon possesses spikes adorning its jumping-legs as well as a distinctive horn on its head, most likely as a defense-mechanism.

Nothing is known about its diet. However, it is likely to be a herbivore that specializes in eating leaves like the majority of cricket and grasshopper species.

Trivia[]

  • Like all animals from Skull Island. It is unknown what they faced during the sinking of the island. Given the multiple expeditions, there may be a chance that a few surviving populations was saved off-land to a more stable enclosure.
