Funucaris, ("corpse-crab") is a species of crab that grew up to eight inches across the carapace (20.3 centimeters).
Facts[]
Strong pincers with sharp bladed edges sliced meat away from bone but could also manipulate small morsels with surprising grace and delicacy when picking the very last scraps from a skeleton. Funucaris like most crustaceans of Skull Island, were scavengers.
Among the scavenger crabs, Funucaris was pretty average looking, and resembled a lot like conventional crabs found elsewhere although it was the largest of the scavenger crabs. They were largely located at the coasts and in the river systems and as such, were well adapted for oceanic life.
Trivia[]
- Unlike the majority of animals from Skull Island, it is highly likely that Funucaris survived the island's sinking as they were excellent swimmers and could live in the salty oceans.
