The Ghoulfish (Idolonichthys ferrugo, meaning "rust apparition-fish") is a fish native to skull island's waterways, similar to a Hatchetfish in appearance.
Facts[]
A hideous looking fish, the Ghoulfish doesn't leave much to the imagination. Notable for its rust-coloured scales which is where it got its scientific nomenclature from. The Ghoulfish is just one of many freshwater fish that inhabit the rivers, ponds, lakes and swamps of Skull Island.
Outside of its colouration, the Ghoulfish resembles somewhat of an enlarged Piranha, however it bears more resemblance to the aforementioned Hatchetfish, although whether these two are related is unknown. It is presumable that the Ghoulfish is a piscivore and occupy near the bottom of the foodchain.
Trivia[]
- Like all animals from Skull Island. It is unknown what they faced during the sinking of the island. Given the multiple expeditions, there may be a chance that a few surviving populations was saved off-land to a more stable enclosure.
