The Giant Grey Agama is a species of big agamid lizard that is found on Skull Island. The animal is described in the book "The World of Kong: A Natural History of Skull Island" (2005).

Overview[]

The Giant Grey Agama is a carrion reptile that lives in the Lowlands in Skull Island. While superficially resembling a giant iguana, they are actually a giant variant of the smaller but still closely related dragon lizards.

They mainly hunt small prey such as insects, other small invertebrates and other small animals, and fulfils a role usually inhabited by giant monitor lizards, but they will not pass up the opportunity to feed on carrion. As far as ecological contemporaries go, the Giant Grey Agama is the Lowlands version of the Dragonskins of the coasts, as both lizards are opportunistic scavengers in a land dominated by giant and more intimidating predators.

Trivia[]

  • They were possibly the direct competition of Calcarisaurus as far as niche partitioning goes.
