Great Carrion Parrot (Caropsitticus maximus, meaning "large flesh parrot") are one of the many members that comprise Skull Island's Carrion Parrots and is one of the largest of them all, as they could reach a 4-5 foot long wingspan (1.2-1.5 meters).
Facts[]
As aforementioned, the Great Carrion Parrot is so named because it possesses the largest wingspan out of all the Carrion Parrots in Skull Island. At 1.2-1.5 meters in length, the wings of these parrots allow for more efficient gliding at greater heights, which is needed given that these carrion eaters must stay aloft for a long time to spot for a potential meal.
As far as appearances goes, the Great Carrion Parrot is noted for its black overcoat of feathers with a dark, crimson red undercoat creating a striking appearance when flying overhead.
Trivia[]
- It is unknown why these parrots became scavengers given the large abundance of scavengers already filling the niches.
- Like all flying birds, it is likely that the Great Carrion Parrots survived the sinking of Skull Island without the need of human help.
