This page details King Kong Wiki's official policy on all things related to images.
Before uploading
Please review the Wiki FAIR USE policy. While King Kong Wiki does not enforce it as strictly as Wikipedia does, we do fully acknowledge that King Kong and everything associated with it are copyrighted.
Legal
Unless otherwise specified, all rights to all images reside to it's copyright owner.
Images that are not copyrighted
Images such as fan artwork posted may only be uploaded to King Kong Wiki by the original artist.
Image names
Images should be uploaded to names that describe their content.
Image size
General screenshots should be neither too small nor too big. Images that are too small fail to properly illustrate what they show. Large, high quality images are a stretch on fair use.
General images should be no larger than 800x600 pixels, broadly construed. For example, an image taken in 1600x900 (widescreen) format may be uploaded in 1280x600, but no larger.
Images should, in general, be no smaller than 400x400. There is no point in uploading thumbnail images to the wiki.
Image usage rationale
Unless you are uploading either a piece of fan artwork you made yourself, or an image unrelated to King Kong for your userpage, you should select the Fair Use template from the drop down menu on the image page.
You must leave a link to the original location of the image.
Image attribution
If you upload an image that you found on the internet to King Kong Wiki, you must indicate the website you obtained it from, and if possible the original location of the image.
If it is a screenshot you took yourself, say just that.
If it is fan artwork that you created yourself, again, say that.
Image violation
The following is a list of images violation that will result in deletion of the image and maybe a block or a ban.
- Images that attacks an individual or group. Ex. Race, colour, Religion, Gender, or Origen.
- Images that contain hate speeches.
- Images that contain Nudity, pornography, or sexually explicit content.
- Out of topic images (example:A picture of you, or media not related to King Kong) will be deleted, but without a ban or a block.
