Novusaurus biscutica ("two whip strange lizard") is a 6-7 inches (15-18 centimeters) long species of flying lizard ("Flyzard") that is found on Skull Island. The animal is described in the book "The World of Kong: A Natural History of Skull Island" (2005).
Facts[]
Sole representatives of it's genus Novusaurus, Novusaurus biscutica true to its scientific name, is a strange specimen that is unlike any other Flyzard.
The most distinctive trait being that it had a forked tail and odd cheek wings. What it did with its bifurcated tail is unknown and its cheek wings would have allowed superior navigational flight than other typical Flyzards.
Like nearly all Flyzards Novusaurus is an insectivore specialized in only eating butterflies.

Trivia[]
- Like all animals from Skull Island. It is unknown what they faced during the sinking of the island. Given the multiple expeditions, there may be a chance that a few surviving populations was saved off-land to a more stable enclosure.
