The Predatory Pond Skater is a species of pond skater native to Skull Island. It is described in the book "The World of Kong: A Natural History of Skull Island" (2005).
Facts[]
Like actual pond skaters, Predatory Pond Skaters were insects that skimmed the surface of Skull Island's still waters by exploiting the water's surface tension with their light weight.
Predatory Pond Skaters than sucked fluid out of their unsuspecting victims after locating them by homing in on the ripples they created on the water's surface.
There appears to be three unknown species of them, if The World of Kong is anything to go by, although their names are not yet known.
Trivia[]
- Like all animals from Skull Island. It is unknown what they faced during the sinking of the island. Given the multiple expeditions, there may be a chance that a few surviving populations was saved off-land to a more stable enclosure.
