Skull Island Hawk is a species of bird that is found on Skull Island. The animal is described in the book "The World of Kong: A Natural History of Skull Island" (2005).
Facts[]
The agile Skull Island Hawk is a handsome, bluish bird with a featherless head that can adeptly pluck an Aerosaurus out of the air midflight.
It is the island's largest and only known bird of prey and was well adapted to the jungle canopy. Unlike most bird of prey, the Skull Island Hawk is bald on the head, suggesting that it gauges itself directly in the innards of its prey, like the makeup of Vultures.
Trivia[]
- Its bald head mimics the now confirmed theory on how the Haast's Eagle of New Zealand looked like. The Haast's Eagle also had a bald head as it largely gauge itself within the insides of a killed Moa rather than ripping to pieces like traditional birds of prey.
- The hawk would have most likely filled a niche of a squat, nimble aerial predator as its smaller size allowed it to squeeze through the dense forests, areas where the flying rodents of Skull Island are either too big or too sluggish to traverse into.
- It, alongside the majority of flying birds would have likely survived the sinking of Skull Island without the help of humans.
