Sun-fin (Heliolepis pinnula, meaning "sun-fin little-wing"), is a fish native to skull island's waterways, looks like an African Butterfly Fish and jumps out of the water to catch insects.
Facts[]
An odd-looking fish. the Sun-fin has a strange oblong body with a pronounced throat. The pronounced throat could likely be an adaptation to engorge larger-than-usual prey. Its strong insectivorous diet means that the Sun-fin has adapted to be powerful jumpers; being able to leap high in the air to catch flying insects.
It is called a Sun-fin due to its fin patterns which resembles a layered ray of yellow sunlight.
Trivia[]
- Like all animals from Skull Island. It is unknown what they faced during the sinking of the island. Given the multiple expeditions, there may be a chance that a few surviving populations was saved off-land to a more stable enclosure.
