This was a fun little gag, that was going to be quite in the middle of the Bronto-stampede. We never got it completely finished though, because we felt that the stampede was a little to long. So unfortunately this piece was a bit that we ultimately ended up taking out.

[Source]

This individual, only known as the Ninth Venture Crewman, was a sailor who was part of the SS Venture's crew. He was part of the search party that looked for Ann Darrow when she and the SS Venture's crew made land on Skull Island, where she was taken away by a massive ape known as Kong.

He survives the first half of the conflicts that arose in their expedition, up until the second conflict, where the crew came to rest in a narrow valley, where up ahead behind them where a group of Brontosaurs grazed before being startled by hunting Venatosaurs, where a stampede ensued in the narrow valley. He was caught up in the stampede, where he was the fourth to die in the search party, being crushed under a trampling Brontosaur when the dinosaurs where accidentally shot by Bruce Baxter near the end of the Narrow Valley where it ended on a rocky, slippery slope.

In a deleted scene, however, he is snatched by a Venatosaurus, before he kills it, but being wounded, he was fatally snatched in the jaws of a second Venatosaur, dropping his pistol and eaten and killed by the speedy predator.

Biography[]

The man was hired by Carl Denham to an expedition to Singapore (whom unbeknownst to him and the rest of the crew, were actually going to Skull Island), where he can be seen along with the others watching Ann Darrow and Jimmy dancing. Once Ann Darrow was given sacrifice to a giant ape called Kong, Captain Englehorn deployed a crew to find her, with this crewman being part of the Search Party.

Entering the dark forest of Skull Island, several birds frightened one of the sailors, which caused an angry Ferrucutus to storm out of the dead bush and attack the crew, hitting several sailors, where the ninth Venture crewman survived without being hit by the angry ceratopsian. Afterwards, the crew wandered through a rainforest creek full of giant dragonflies, where they eventually wandered into a temple-like gorge, where they rested for a few moments, where he and the crew find a large footprint of Kong. Eventually, the gorge is rumbling with rocks falling, where the Crewman carefully looked above and his firearm down. Once the footprints became louder, he quickly ran into the gorge with the rest, where he took take off running into the gorge following Bruce Baxter, who ran up ahead of the Crewmen.

Once the stampeding Brontosaurs came through the valley, he, alongside the crew, where caught in the stampede. He is first briefly seen running alongside the fourth and seventh in front of Jack Driscoll, Carl and Herb, when the Brontosaurus began to stampede with the sailors, but is later fully but briefly seen running in the stampede in front of the third crewman, where he is almost crushed by the foot of a Brontosaur, where he, in a bug-eyed look, moved away at the Brontosaur with him swatting his hand at the beast, where he disappears behind the Brontosaur, where it later crushes the eighth crewman.

As he and the rest of the come pass a collapsing cliff side and into a slippering, downward slope, Bruce Baxter shoots at an attacking Venatosaur which he accidentally shoots the legs of a Brontosaur, causing said Brontosaur to collapse and slide, causing a massive pileup of Brontosaurs. During the falling of the dinosaur, this crewman somehow gets caught in it, and is seen sliding down one of the collapsing dinosaurs and is crushed by the Brontosaurs, killing him, screaming at the same time but briefly.

However, in a deleted scene, his death has a different ending.

The crewman can be seen running up a little hill, located in the middle of the valley, while all the dinosaurs are continuing their stampede and running past him. Then suddenly, when he thought he was safe, a Venatosaurus jumps forth and snatches him. The man desperately pulls up his gun and fires at the Venatosaurus head. He then falls to the ground, just to be picked up and devoured by another Venatosaurus. Although in the cinematic version of the film, the last death sequence in the stampede may be him, rolling over and being crushed under the weight of a Brontosaurus, he wears different clothing that more resembles the third Venture Crewman, it is most likely a continuity error and it was him that was killed by the Brontosaurs, as the third Venture Crewman is seen for the rest of the action sequences up until the log scene, where he is killed.
